Bio
I am an extensively trained Shakespearean actor, The Bard has always been my greatest inspiration. My work seeks to examine the milleu of the tropes, contrivances, and gender-bending/homo-erotic subtext of classical theatre, and to mold from them pieces that are relatable, fresh, and explicitly queer. The structures of classical theatre can still connect with modern audiences, but very few contemporary playwrights choose to elaborate on them. I believe that these texts have so much more to offer us, and my plays demonstrate that passion for a confluence of old and new- a unity of queer thought.
My acting work is informed by my training with Lookingglass Theatre Company, Chicago Youth Shakespeare, and the Berridge Program, and my work with companies such as The Artistic Home, Cabinet of Curiosities, and Crew of Patches. Favorite roles include Macbeth, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, and Eugene in Brighton Beach Memoirs.
